- Windows 10 (1809+) and Windows 11, 64-bit
- No admin rights needed
- What’s new in 26.10
Up and running in three steps
Run the setup
Run FlexiLink-Setup-26.10.0.exe and click Install. No administrator password is needed – FlexiLink installs only for your user account.
Make it the default
On the last page of the setup, click Make default. (Later, it’s in FlexiLink Settings too.)
Confirm in Windows
Click Set default on the Windows Default apps page that opens. Then click any link – the picker appears.
What the installer does
- Puts FlexiLink in
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\FlexiLinkand adds it to the Start menu. - Registers FlexiLink with Windows as a browser you can choose. It does not change your default browser on its own – you decide that in Windows Settings.
- Installs the Microsoft Windows App SDK Runtime if it’s missing.
- Nothing else: no toolbars, no bundled offers, no services running in the background.
Next, set up a few rules so your usual sites open by themselves.
System requirements
- Windows 10 version 1809 or later, or Windows 11
- A 64-bit (x64) PC
- The Windows App SDK Runtime from Microsoft. Many PCs already have it; if yours doesn’t, the setup downloads and installs it for you.
- At least one web browser, of course
Updating
FlexiLink tells you when a new version is available – once a day, with a Windows notification; you can turn this off on FlexiLink’s Settings page (the gear at the bottom left). To update, just download and run the new setup. Your settings and rules are kept, and FlexiLink restarts in the tray on its own.
Uninstalling
Use Settings › Apps › Installed apps in Windows and choose FlexiLink › Uninstall. FlexiLink removes its files, its browser registration and its start-with-Windows entry. If it is still your default browser, it opens Windows Settings on the browser you used before, so you can make that the default again with one click. Your settings file stays in %LOCALAPPDATA%\FlexiLink in case you come back; delete that folder to remove it too.
For IT: silent install
Run FlexiLink-Setup-26.10.0.exe /quiet to install with no user interface. The package is per-user and doesn’t need elevation. The default browser still has to be confirmed by each user in Windows Settings – Windows doesn’t allow apps to set it silently.
